Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe sat by the window, watching it snow. A knock at the door caused them to jump, but it was only their friend, TomPatBob, that asked them, "What's up?" "Nothing at all," said Holly, said she. "Well then why don't you all come play in the snow with me... please?"

So Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe got on their boots and hats, and went outside in the snow. After they had played in the snow for a long time, Bobbi said, "It's getting dark, and we have to make a pie." "Do you want to join us for supper, TomPatBob?" said Pollie, said she.
Marilyn replied, "Please, TomPatBob, there is plenty to eat." So Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe all went in with TomPatBob, and started kneading the dough.

"Let's do something special for Santa, tonight," said Holly, said she. "We could all make him a present, to put under the tree." "No, Santa has all the presents in the world," said TomPatBob, said he. "We should all put on a performance, for the whole town to see." So Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe, all went with TomPatBob to get costumes for the show.

They looked everywhere in the house, and found all sorts of things. All colors of material, and even silver and gold string. They made a lot of brilliant costumes, for each performer to wear, making sure that they hurried, for they had no time to spare. Holly got out the pie, and they ate their meal quick. For they would soon be ready to surprise, jolly Old Saint Nick.

Bobbi made invitations, and sent them out fast. And then finally, they all knew, that the word of the show had passed. Holly put up the stage, with the help of some friends, and soon they had everything set, for the audience to attend. Pollie put colored lights on the gigantic stage, while snow fell down in a violent rage. Marilyn got Christmas songs and plays for them to perform that night, as TomPatBob helped with all, in tremendous delight. They practiced singing, and dancing, and practiced the plays. Finally they were ready, and they knew no one was going to stand in their way. They waited backstage, as the people appeared, waiting for Santa Claus, and all of his reindeer. After awhile, the crowd got impatient, as we all could see.

So TomPatBob said, "We have to go on with the show." And all four of us agreed. There was dancing, music, and singing galore. But then it started to get windy, and the icy snow began to pour. So TomPatBob, Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe all told their guests that it was time for them to go. "But Santa isn't here yet," said Holly, said she. "It's time to go," said TomPatBob, smiling mischievously. They all walked through the chunks of snow in silence, because each one knew Santa hadn't come to see them perform. It had been a show for Santa, and now their hearts were all torn.

TomPatBob spent the night with them, with Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, and Marilyn Poe. They all woke up the next morning, to see their Christmas tree all aglow. "There's something hanging from the tree!" exclaimed Bobbi, exclaimed she. "There are presents for everyone," said Pollie, said she. "And look! There's a note, too. But from who could it be?"

It said: Dear Bobbi, Holly, Pollie, Marilyn Poe, and TomPatBob, I would like to thank you for that wonderful performance, you did and outstanding job! I have never gotten a present for Christmas before, and I'm happy to say that this Christmas present, I adored. You all did excellent in the show, and I am proud of every one of you, I hope you know. Thank you for such a marvelous gift. It was MAGNIFICENT ! (This is sealed with a kiss)
-Santa Clause

At that, they all whooped for joy, and sang and danced and played with their new toys. For Santa had seen their performance, after all... he had seen! The note from Santa was a miraculous treasure in their hearts, that they would, one and all, always keep.
